COLD-FORGING
Cold-forging (also called cold forming or cold pressing) is characterised by very low material use, narrow tolerances and smooth surfaces.Cold-forging pressing of a metal component typically starts with cutting fitted pieces of metal rods or pipes. Next the raw materials are treated with oil and placed in the forming tools, which form the finished components one by one at room temperature using high pressure – a process that takes from 0.1 to 4 seconds.
DFT-PRESSWORK has 12 fully automated hydraulic and mechanical production machines that cold form components using from 100 to 1000 tonnes of pressure.
Via the main areas below, we have provided examples and details concerning the options and range of materials in cold-forging presswork.
